This project is my first feature film as writer and director and, as you would expect, is very close to my heart. My past experience is mainly in theatre, but since studying at the New York Film Academy, I know that writing and creating film is what I wish to pursue. Never did I imagine that a project or idea like One by One would seek me out and go on to be such a major part of my life.
From conception to this point has taken 30 months and this would not have got this far without all the wonderful people who have given their precious time and money to see this project come this far. For me, this film is 'for the people, by the people' and as the plotline suggests, offers ideas and calls into question our very existence. The idea to 'question everything' is now routed deep within me (and dare I say all the people involved in this project). The questions therefore remain; what involvement do you want in your life and 'are you awake?'
